First week in Cambridge, Second time in UK

First week in Cambridge, Second time in UK

This is my first time studying English here, in Cambridge. So, talking about travelling in UK is about my last time in the previous year. I have been to UK during long holidays with my family. A vacation included London, Salisbury, Liverpool and Manchester. The climax of the trip is watching big football match between Manchester United and Liverpool. In the stadium, the fan clubs of each team were concentrating on the match and cheering out very loud. I can feel the feeling and atmosphere around there that how football is influenced British people. Tourist attractions in London such as Big Ben, London Eye, Buckingham Palace, Tower of London, etc. are also spectacular. Sitting in a 443ft-tall giant Ferris wheel, situated on the banks of the river Thames, give me a stunning panoramic view of the capital city of England.

This time, as being an international student here, travelling to conventional tourist attractions seems to be too simple. Visiting historic sites such as ancient monasteries and magnificent cathedrals can be visited in daytrips, but tasting real British life and experiencing its living culture couldn't. So, this may be the reason why I'm here.

  1. Thank you for your blog entry, nice post.

    Some feedback:

So, talking about travelling in UK is about my last time in the previous year.
*Rather say '... I'm going to talk about the time I visited the UK last year'

    A vacation included London
*The vacation - definite article is needed here

The climax of the trip is watching big football match between Manchester United and Liverpool.
    *check your tenses

    Lovely language:

Sitting in a 443ft-tall giant Ferris wheel, situated on the banks of the river Thames, give me a stunning panoramic view of the capital city of England.
*just gave not give - check tenses

    Nice sentence:
'Visiting historic sites such as ancient monasteries and magnificent cathedrals can be visited in daytrips, but tasting real British life and experiencing its living culture couldn't.'
*clarify what you mean by 'couldn't'. It might be better to say:'...but you can't taste real British life and experience its living culture unless you life in the UK, this is the reason why I'm here.'
